Draft Australian Standard – Fibre Rope Slings
There is currently a draft Australian Standard, AS18264 – ‘Textile Slings for General Purpose Lifting Operations made from Fibre Ropes – High Modulus Polyethelyne (HMPE).
This standard is currently open for public comment and is to replace AS13180.1:1999 Fibre Rope Slings. With the introduction of lifting slings being made from material such as HMPE a whilst ago now, either amendments to the old standard or a new standard has been needed for a whilst now.
