Lifting in the Iron Triangle

LiftQuip Australia were recently asked by a customer to design, manufacture, test and supply the lifting equipment for the relocation and installation of a number of newly manufactured cabins in Port Augusta, South Australia.

The rigging arrangement consisted of a 12 tonne Fixed Spreader Beam at the top with 2 x 6 tonne Spreader Beams with multiple attachment points underneath connecting onto 4 x Lifting Beams on the underside of the cabins.  2 sets were required, one for the loading of the cabins from the manufacturing location in Port Pirie and one for the unloading at the new cabin park in Port Augusta.

Timeframes were a challenge but the ability to be able to manufacture, test and paint in house at RMB’s Regency Park location was a huge advantage.  The RMB team worked long hours to get the job done and the customer was happy to see the job get underway.

The cabin park will be a welcome addition to the Port Augusta accommodation offering, we look forward to staying there once it is up and running.
