Lifting and Rigging Arrangement
Finalising Lifting and Rigging configurations and lift plans can be a lengthy process. There are many things to consider:
- Crane availability
- Rigging availability
- Site requirements
- Weather implications
- Plant equipment that needs to be shut down
The list can be extensive.
The team at LiftQuip Australia worked with a customer recently on a lift that comprised of a string of round slings and connector shackles. The ideal Round Sling length was not an option due to testing limitations. After some back and forth, a final configuration was settled on
The slinging arrangement was a combination of existing slings and the following which were supplied by LiftQuip:
- 25 tonne x 6 metre Round Sling – 8 off
- 25 tonne x 12 metre Round Sling – 12 off
Round Slings supplied were manufactured by Spanset Australia
To remove any doubt around load equalisation, LiftQuip hired loadcells to the customer and they were placed at the 8 pick up points.
The lift went well with happy customers all around.
