INSPECTION SERVICES
Lifting gear inspections should take place on a regular basis, by a competent person with training, knowledge, skills and expertise.
It is important to ensure that equipment is maintained and can continue to be safely used. Lifting equipment inspections are essential for maintaining workplace safety. These inspections help identify wear, damage, or defects in equipment that could lead to failures and accidents. Regular inspections are also necessary to comply with safety regulations and standards, helping to avoid legal penalties and ensure that equipment is safe for use. By catching issues early, inspections prolong the lifespan of lifting equipment, reducing the likelihood of costly breakdowns and replacements.

We will advise whether it is cheaper to replace or repair. We work with your team to implement an inspection schedule that complies with Australian Standards and meets your specific requirements. TRAINED + EXPERIENCEDÂ INSPECTORS
Our testing and inspections team have strong industry reputations and are highly trained, competent technicians who have passed the LEEA Diploma courses and examinations, height safety and installation courses. When the costs and risks are weighed up, there is little incentive for a company to conduct their own inspections. A competent person will have acquired through training, education and experience, skills enabling that person to safely and effectively perform the task required. Competency isn’t achieved through simply working around equipment for a long time. While DIY inspections might seem like a good idea, there are a lot of risks and costs associated with inspecting and managing lifting equipment in-house.
A COMPETENT PERSON MUST:
FOLLOW PROCEDURE: Follow the procedures included in the standard
COMPLETE TRAINING: Completed an established competency-based training course
MAINTAIN DOCUMENTATION: Maintain documentation of competency standards and procedures
INSPECTION TAGS AND BOARDS
Inspection tags give the user a visual indication that the equipment has been inspected during the current inspection period. It is standard practice to change the colour of the tags with each inspection period. A wrong colour tag or no tag at all is an immediate indication that item should be removed from service until the item can be inspected and verified.
